Le statut du partenaire : la marche difficile vers une reconnaissance uniforme d'un droit de séjour
In 1953, the first European passports were distributed to officials of the Economic Community of the Coal and Steel industries. The European Coal and Steel established the free movement of goods between the 6 countries of the European Community. However, it started the free movement of persons between Member States. Since that date, the right of people to move and reside within the territory of the Member States has continued to grow and became one of the characteristics of the internal market.
