Spring Methods Workshop

Workshop on “CONCEPT BUILDING AND CONSISTENCY”

This second workshop of the GEM-STONES PhD program served the following purposes:

• Prepare the doctoral fellows’ theoretical work and positioning
• Building of a common lexicon by developing a shared list of theoretical concepts and definitions
• Assessment of, and discussion on progress made on the GEM-STONES Methods Textbook

Workshop program included lectures given by internationally renowned scholars, that focused on the transversal challenges early stage scholars face when seeking to delienate their epistemological framework. These were followed by a panel discussion on the opportunities  and limits of typologies. With an aim to bridge the discplinary and conceptual divides that crisscross through the GEM-STONES research project, special concept sessions were also organised to foster discussion amongst all participants.
