Workshop on “DATA COLLECTION STRATEGIES”

This first workshop of the GEM-STONES PhD program served a multitude of purposes:

•    Giving the PhD fellows both an overview of existing methods and a sense of the different means to collect data
•    Chance for all the fellows to meet and introduce themselves
•    Launching event for the collective processes related to both the shared data-set and the joint textbook

The workshop program consisted of an introductory session on the logic of the workshops and importance of data and methods in the GEM-STONES program; a combination of lectures and exercise sessions on methodologies linked to interactions, text and people; and kick-off sessions and discussions on the GEM-STONES Methods Textbook and Shared Data-set.
